Biography
Ali Jee is a Pakistani Shia noha khwan (reciter of elegies mourning the martyrs of Karbala) from Karachi. He is one of the two sons of Nadeem Sarwar, among the most famous noha khwans in the world, and the younger brother of reciter Ali Shanawar.
Raised in a household devoted to azadari, Ali Jee began reciting nohas as a child and rose to prominence performing both on his own and as part of his father's annual noha albums, which are released each year for Muharram. His recitations circulate widely on YouTube and streaming platforms and have earned a large international following among the Shia community.
His repertoire spans Urdu, Persian and other languages, and includes commemorations for Muharram, Safar and the events of Karbala. He continues to record and perform, frequently appearing together with Nadeem Sarwar and Ali Shanawar in live noha khwani gatherings.
